This week we finally get answers to the important questions. Did Valerio travel more than Goran? Are we alone in the universe? Will Yashin’s hat have physics in FUT 18? And of course, we welcome back Elis who’s been on holiday. With the whole gang we speculate about FUT 18 before the big reveal happened, so make sure to tune in to see how right and wrong we were!
Our FUT 18 Gut Reactions
By the way, if you’re looking for our gut reactions to the FUT 18 reveal, check out the video below. We’ll be doing a full analysis on next week’s FUT FM of course.
EA have been to release new FIFA 18 gmeplay clips, and the FUT FM comrades are ready to dissect them into oblivion. This week, we talk about thew so called new crossing and dribbling, and ponder how it may actually impact the future of FIFA. PLUS, Valerio probably triggers Poplove for the first time ever, then gets triggered himself. Be sure to stay after the end music for something truly special…
New Crossing In FIFA 18
Here’s the new crossing clip we talk about on the show.
Yes, that’s the official video, yes it’s vertical. It’s meant to be viewed on mobile. As you can see, these types of crosses are not actually new to FIFA. They exist in the current game but have different controls, and we can only assume that FIFA 18 will have better physics, AI, and dribbling.
New Dribbling In FIFA 18
And here’s the new dribbling clip that we refer to this week.
Again, nothing in this clip is actually brand new. Hmmmmmm. Here’s hoping for some good refinements at least! The wheel doesn’t need to be reinvented every game, but the series needs to improve year to year for sure.
From discussing the intricacies of various 3 at the back formations, to legendary levels of banter, this week’s FUT FM has it all! You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you might even poop your pants. I mean, we’d rather you didn’t… but when you gotta go you gotta go. Nature calls. Number 2. Diarrhea.
The… Ahem… Legendary Trios Stream
You’ll hear this referenced a fair bit on today’s episode. Well, don’t worry, you can see what we’re talking about below!
Basically, drpoplove, nellygotbored, and italianstallion got together for 3 different FIFA 17 streams, each with crappy 50K teams. They stayed together in the same voice chat party, and bedlam ensued.
The Triggering Continues
From own goals to Valerio, the triggering doesn’t stop on this episode. I’d tell you to take a shot every time someone is triggered… but you’d be blackout drunk within 20 minutes.
But seriously, what’s up with FIFA 17 these days? Despite there being less and less active players, the game’s servers are performing worse and worse. Not that they were amazing to begin with, but it’s getting a bit ridiculous.
The Importance Of Weak Foot
Just how important is a player’s weak foot in FIFA 17? Does it matter on a position by position basis? Is 3 stars really the lowest acceptable value? We talk about this at length, and we want to hear your thoughts as well! Vote in the poll below.
What’s the worst Weak Foot rating you’ll accept for midfielders and attackers in FIFA 17?
Our very first guest star, Ben from the awesome FUT Weekly Podcast, joins us for an exhilarating chat our various stances on SBCs, favorite FIFA 17 players, pros playing only home matches, the marketing brilliance of The Journey, and so much more! Tune in to find out if Valerio gets triggered again (spoilers, he does).

We know that goalkeepers in FIFA have never been great, and sometimes they’re entirely broken. Isn’t it strange that they’ve never been truly fixed? Is this even possible? The game has to remain fun and you have to be able to score, but when the ball bounces towards the keeper, he should definitely not kick it into his own net.
There’s no denying that the initial shot should have been a goal there, but damn son, what’s the keeper doing?
Everyone Plays With The Same Player Instructions
FIFA might have a tactical problem. If everyone plays forwards with “get in behind” and full backs with “stay back when attacking,” does that mean the game is limited in its ability to handle other instructions effectively? Or does this simply mean that these are the best options by far?
Either way, it contributes to a stale metagame that settles extremely early in the game’s lifespan and doesn’t evolve too much.
