The… Ahem… Legendary Trios Stream

You’ll hear this referenced a fair bit on today’s episode. Well, don’t worry, you can see what we’re talking about below!

Basically, drpoplove, nellygotbored, and italianstallion got together for 3 different FIFA 17 streams, each with crappy 50K teams. They stayed together in the same voice chat party, and bedlam ensued.

The Triggering Continues

From own goals to Valerio, the triggering doesn’t stop on this episode. I’d tell you to take a shot every time someone is triggered… but you’d be blackout drunk within 20 minutes.

But seriously, what’s up with FIFA 17 these days? Despite there being less and less active players, the game’s servers are performing worse and worse. Not that they were amazing to begin with, but it’s getting a bit ridiculous.

The Importance Of Weak Foot

Just how important is a player’s weak foot in FIFA 17? Does it matter on a position by position basis? Is 3 stars really the lowest acceptable value? We talk about this at length, and we want to hear your thoughts as well! Vote in the poll below.

And of course, don’t forget about our giveaway!

In this episode: drpoplove (Goran), Italian Stallion (Valerio), Nellygotbored (Nenad). Thanks for listening, see ya next week!

The State OF Goalkeepers In FIFA 17

We know that goalkeepers in FIFA have never been great, and sometimes they’re entirely broken. Isn’t it strange that they’ve never been truly fixed? Is this even possible? The game has to remain fun and you have to be able to score, but when the ball bounces towards the keeper, he should definitely not kick it into his own net.

There’s no denying that the initial shot should have been a goal there, but damn son, what’s the keeper doing?

Everyone Plays With The Same Player Instructions

FIFA might have a tactical problem. If everyone plays forwards with “get in behind” and full backs with “stay back when attacking,” does that mean the game is limited in its ability to handle other instructions effectively? Or does this simply mean that these are the best options by far?

Either way, it contributes to a stale metagame that settles extremely early in the game’s lifespan and doesn’t evolve too much.

Banter For Days – FUT FM Episode 04

FUT FM Episode 4

This week, the banter gets too real, Elis attempts to justify the “shush” celebration, Valerio gets angry and curses for the second episode in a row in what can only be described as the most beautiful triggering of all time, Nelly contradicts himself, and Goran is just 100% perfect as usual…

Oops, The Weekend League

Early on in the episode we talk about the possibility of the Weekend League ending, but it’s actually going to continue! The new rewards have been announced and people are understandably upset as old (and arguably not as useful) cards are being recycled.

Ball Clearing Debate

Do you clear the ball with shoot or cross? Let us know on Twitter, because we debate the merit of each on this episode, and it gets a little feisty, hehe.

FIFA Players Kind Of Hate FIFA (?)

After polling over 3400 FIFA players, the data is somewhat surprising! We go over some of the most interesting questions and preview the full analysis. Do most people think FIFA cheats them? Is high pressure overpowered? Find out in the full analysis.

Connection Conspiracy

In his quest to consistently get 5 bar matches, Valerio has noted some pretty significant differences between playing out of North/West Europe vs Southern Europe. Is it possible that a footballing powerhouse like Italy doesn’t get its own servers? Why does Valerio keep getting matched with other continents? The mystery continues to grow.

The Potential Of FUT Draft

A listener question spawns a discussion about how amazing FUT Draft could be… and how the mode currently receives no love and is full of gameplay altering glitches. Will we see an update to this mode in FIFA 18? Will draft tokens still be a thing?

By the way, if you missed the episode in which A MONITOR GETS PUNCHED, be sure to tune in over here.

Everyone Gets Exposed And A Monitor Gets Punched – FUT FM Episode 03

FUT FM Episode 3

On this week’s episode, Valerio goes 40 – 0 in FUT Champs, we finally get EXPOSED in every way possible, Chappers smashes a monitor (WTF mate?), we debate L2R2 dribbling and the power of shielding, plus we talk about the necessity of a spectator/broadcaster mode , take your sexy questions, and so much more. Don’t miss this episode!

Spectator Mode and Broadcaster Mode In FIFA 18

We talked about a spectator/broadcaster mode a lot this week. If EA wants to grow the game as an eSport and expand its audience, this is a must have feature set. Every single eSport game has had at least a decently functional suite of tools designed to enhance the viewing experience.

And as we all know, pro FIFA play can get pretty dry to watch. What do you guys think? Would you use a spectate or broadcast feature? Let us know on our Twitter, right here right now.

The State Of L2R2 Dribbling And Shielding in FIFA 17

Another massive topic that we cover this week is how absurd L2R2 dribbling and general shielding gets. As you’ll hear Valerio point out, there has never been a recorded instance of a player ice skating on the pitch in real life like a player in FIFA. Does L2R2 have a place in the game, or should it be banished to the fiery pits of hell?

Speaking of L2… that shielding though. As we come to a close on FIFA 17, it’s to reflect on how this button has transformed the flow of matches this year, for better and worse.

Pre Game Stats Screen

In PES, the game tells you what your opponent’s tendencies are as you get into a match with them. If they like to counter attack often or play possession, you’ll know. Kind of like a real scouting report.

However, this screen causes a huge divide on the podcast when it comes to FIFA. What do you think though, should players be served scouting reports on the opposition or should have to figure things out as you play?

By the way, if you haven’t heard our FIFA 18 gameplay reveal discussion, be sure to check it out here.
